NEW DeepFire Full Metal M4 AEGs

The NEW DeepFire Full Metal M4 AEGs are available for PRE ORDER now! Available in 12inch MRF-CX-Carbine, 7inch MRF-C-Carbine and 7inch MRF-C-CQB (seen below) forms.

DeepFire have previously only made accessories and of course the M72A2 Launcher and Grenades, so this marks a change in direction for the company. The gun is a combination of all the best parts from DeepFire, such as the Titanium Piston and Titanium Teeth as well as the other internal parts. Just like the increasing popularity of Systema PTW guns, the trend of customising the PTWs have gained much popularity too. We have seen many photos of customers who have customised their PTWs to make their gun stand out from the crowd, and today we have got a NEW metal body kit for the Systema PTW M4/M16 series, complete with realistic trademarks. Laylax PSS10 Carbon barrel set for the Marui VSR10

Carbon Fiber, or more specifically Carbon Fiber reinforced plastic, has been used in the aerospace and automotive industries for many years. It's strength-to-weight ratio properties make it essential for applications like high-performance racing, where weight is of the essence with minimal compromise in rigidity. Improved and cheaper manufacturing techniques have meant that carbon fiber has seen use in more common everyday applications.


That brings us to the new Laylax PSS10 Carbon barrel set for the Marui VSR10. It might seem a little excessive at first (especially as it retails for more than the gun itself), but one has to appreciate the art, and the balls that Laylax has to make such an idiosyncratically exotic accessory for an airsoft gun. One does appreciate the madness when one actually picks it up and feels it, and to realise how light it really is. The barrel weighs a mere 200g, which is nothing when compared with a metal barrel. The total length of this carbon barrel is 825mm; we weighed a 700 mm metal barrel for the VSR-10 and it weighed over 850g! The weight saving is quite profound, and you will probably feel that when you're carrying the sniper rifle around the field. Laylax recommend using a 555mm inner barrel in conjunction with this barrel.


This carbon fiber barrel will only be limited to 30 in the whole World and are bespoke, hand-made pieces, so it's bound to be a (lavish) collector's piece or for those who prize weight without losing the strength inherent in metal barrels.

No matter how well made a product is, there is no escaping the fact that if there are mechanical elements within the product, it will at some time need replacing. Airsoft (in) Australia!

For airsoft fans in Australia, the light at the end of the tunnel is coming ever closer. It's an exciting prospect that airsoft, as a mainstream sport in Australia, could soon become a realisation as soon as December 2008. Airsoft Australia have been doing a sterling job of pushing forth the proposals to make airsoft legally accessible.

Currently, airsoft and airsoft guns are illegal for most practical purposes as the current Australian law classifies them as Categroy A weapons (putting them in the same category as break-action shotguns and rimfire rifles). What's more, the process required to acquire one is a lengthy and laborious one.

Airsoft Australia are instrumental in redefining airsoft to be legally accepted, and their proposals have been accepted with positive feedback from the Minister’s Weapons Review Committee in Queensland. As quoted from their website:

“It is with great pleasure I advise that ASA’s proposal for Legislative and Regulatory changes within Queensland has been passed by the Ministers Weapons Review Committee. In conjunction with APMC’s (Australian Police Ministers Council) recent resolutions in relation to Airsoft Replica ownership, ASA’s proposed changes have been forwarded to the Minister for her consideration.”

Airsoft Australia quote from the documentation that they received: “If the proposed timeline remains it is expected that the new Legislation will be enacted early December 2008”. So, airsoft could be legal by the end of the year in Queensland, but what about the other states? Well, although individual states have individual aspects of the law, there are a lot of uniformally adopted ones. Firearms are one of those issues which have been adopted nationwide, so there is a distinct possibility that it would be applied across Australia.

Redwolf Airsoft - IWA 2008

Redwolf Airsoft are getting ready for the IWA show in Germany, which takes place from the 14th March and ends on the 17th March. The venue of the show is the Exhibition Centre in Nuremburg and tickets can be bought onsite.

For those who are unfamiliar with the IWA show, the show has been the world's leading exhibition for the hunting and sporting guns, outdoor and accessories sector for over 34 years. First time more than 1,055 exhibitors with an international share of over 73 % presented this year their products and services to around 31,000 trade visitors from more than 100 nations. The international share of visitors is about 60 % - which makes IWA & OutdoorClassics in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg a truly multinational occasion for the industry.

An interesting product from Airsoft Innovations. According to the manufacturers, it's a propane-powered grenade that releases 180x 6mm BBs with a 360-degree coverage, as well as having a consistent timer and not loose parts to lose.

Cordura - tough stuff!

Invista Cordura is surprisingly impressive stuff. It looks like ordinary Nylon from a distance and could understandably be mistaken for normal Nylon, but it is far more durable. Invista have proven in official tests that Cordura is 3 times stronger than normal Nylon. Another benefit of Corudra is that it is resistant to water.

Using good quality combat gear is important, especially when the action is heating up on the field/when the weather turn for the worse. Of course we don't all want to spend a fortune on the big brand combat gears. The Pantac range offers the perfect solution, with most of their range available in Cordura. Take a look at our water resistance test in the video below (tested against another Chinese-made bag made from Nylon).

Systema PTW5A4 PTW

The release of the Systema PTW5A4 PTW is almost here, and as you may have seen from our YouTube videos or from our main website, we have one of the pre-production products to hand. In some way, the video doesn't do this gun justice as you can't feel how solid this gun is. Even though it may be a bit heavier than the real one, it's still boasts 1:1 dimensions, with a working 3-burst function. Also, the echoes and sound in the video maybe slightly misleading, as the trigger response is super sharp. Whereas with semi-auto, even a short tap on the trigger completes the cycle, in the 3-burst function it doesn't complete the whole 3 burst with one tap, but stops firing as soon as the trigger is released. That means that you can let off 1 shot or 2 shots in the 3 burst function.
