The designation SG is an abbreviation for "Sturmgewehr" German for Assault Rifle. The SG 550 is based upon the old SG 540 used by the Swiss Armed Forces. Firing the standardized 5.56x45mm NATO rounds, the SG 550 was designed in the 1970s, it started production in 1986 and was adopted in the 90s to become the Swiss Armed Forces standard service rifle.

The G&G GS 550 is almost an exact replica of the real steel SG550, with the main difference being that the GS550 fire 6mm plastic pellets, whilst the SG550 fires 5.56x45mm NATO rounds!

the GS550 features a very solidly built body, constructed out of metal with ABS furniture; it doesn't rattle at all. The GS550 sports a folding stock, an integral bipod, and imitation night sights that really does improve target acquisition in low light conditions. The bolt handle is capable of locking back when adjusting the hop up, the trigger guard is able to swing both left and right for easier access to the trigger when wearing gloves; The G&G GS550 comes stock with a real-type mag, which holds 30rds and feeds each and every one!

Product Brand: G&G
Product Code: GG-GS550
Hop-Up: ADJUSTABLE
Weight: 3,500 g
Length: 1010.0 mm
Capacity: 30 rds
Power: 380.0 fps
Moto:r NA
Battery Size: 8.4V 2200mAh
Shooting Mode: Semi, Full Auto
Price (USD): $395.00

Is the G&G GS550 AEG a Hit or a Miss?
( Online surveys)

Airsoft Jenga: Ironsight vs Holosight

Have you ever played Jenga before? You're more than likely to have played it before and if you haven't, you surely must know the ins and outs of the game. However, have you ever wondered what it is like to play Jenga with an airsoft gun? Well, this is what the technicians have been up to at Redwolf HQ this week, to test the accuracy of the Hurricane Holosight replicas against bog-standard iron sights. Check out the video here
For a full in-depth review of the Hurricane Holosight replicas go here

This is the start of our Redwolf Labs feature, where we put products through a test. The Magpul PTS Back-up sight is not any ordinary sight, and as you can see by the photos below, they really are handsome-looking things. There's something quite muscular and "beefy" about the shape of this that give it a futuristic, cutting-edge look. Rather than requiring the sight to be manually flipped-up by hand, it has a neat spring-loaded action that will raise the sight into place once you press the buttons found on the side. Designed for mounting on a picatinny rail, it will hold your iPod Touch neatly in place.

However, the raison d'etre of this cool accessory (and mounting an iPod Touch/iPhone on your gun) is not solely for those who wish to play music/video while they shoot. There have been a couple of iPod Touch/iPhone apps developed that make it quite useful when used in conjunction with a rifle. Bulletflight and iSnipe are apps used for ballistics calculation, and are priced at $11.99 and $4.99, respectively.

Follow us on Twitter

Add us to Twitter for quick, one sentence updates of the latest goings-on at RedwolfAirsoft.com. As such, other manufacturers like WE, and INOKATSU have also jumped on to the GBB bandwagon, creating their own M4 (plus variants) gas blowback guns. It all started last year with the magnificent magna blowback Western Arms gun, which shook us (quite literally), leaving us wanting more. And that's what we got! We have seen Inokatsu & WE follow suit with their own GBB M4, and very recently, Socomgear and G&P have showed us their own creations. So how does it fair amongst the ever growing crowd of gas blowback M4 guns?

Check out the full review here

Welcome to the Redwolf iBlog!

We are happy to announce the launch of our Redwolf iBlog, where we will provide you with the latest updates and news right on your iPhone/iPod Touch.
